A SENSITIVE SANDY SOIL UNDER PASTURE AS MICROORGANISM HABITAT PROVIDER

چکیده
The sandy soils are sensitive ecosystems, being in a precarious equilibrium with the pedolandscape conditions, any changes could bring drastically modifications into soil environment. researches had been performed Suceava Tableland, Stephan Great area, on Luvosol albic-psamic, lamelar. paper focused upper part of argic horizon, Bt1 sub-horizon characteristics at macro- and microscopic scale. In this respect, macro-morphological level, is composed sequence thick lamellae (3–5 cm) separated by inter-lamellar spaces. granulometric analysis showed that medium loamy texture, while spaces coarse composition. At micromorphological image emphasized, lamellae, presence clayey±Fe±humiccoating mineral grains clogging inter-granular results microbiological investigation concentration microorganisms spaces, their development has scarce. total counts bacteria fungi registered low number (16.81 x 106 viable cells g-1d.s. 1.026 103cfus g-1d.s., respectively). Despite these results, data global indicator activity, respiration respectively, attend high level activity (31.357 mg CO2 g-1d.s.). pointed out very environment for life, but clayey±Fe proved to be hospitable habitat.

Metabolism of cobalamins by a soil microorganism.
The occurrence in soil of a large group of bacteria which require vitamin B12 has been reported by Lochhead and Thexton (1952). Thirty cultures obtained from 534 isolates showed dependence upon vitamin B12 for growth. Lochhead and Burton (1954) grouped these 30 cultures into 10 types, based on morphological and physiological characteristics. A study of the nature of the vitamin B12 requirements...
متن کاملSoil Nitrocxn and Pasture Management
The. seasonal pattern of nitrogen mineralization is described and compared with the potential demand for nitrogen by grasses. Peak mineralization rates occur in spring but are quite inadequate for expression of potential grass growth. Nitrogen fixation by clovers provides a significant input into the system over a short period. Consideration of the fate of fixed nitrogen shows that losses large...
متن کاملSoil Water Regime in Space and Time in a Small Georgia Piedmont Catchment under Pasture
Soil water influences hydrological, biological, and biogeochemical processes that determine onand off-site response of landscapes under different agricultural uses. There are relatively little detailed spatial and temporal soil water measurements to validate current representations of spatial and temporal soil water variability. Soil water was measured over 3 yr at 12 sites to a 1.2-m depth in ...
متن کاملMetabolism of alloxanic acid in a soil microorganism.
Alloxan is a polyoxy-pyrimidine of unusual biological interest, being the agent of choice for producing experimental diabetes (Shaw-Dunn, Sheehan, and McLetchie, 1943). Despite the fact that it has been used extensively for many years, very little is known of its ultimate fate in mammals or other forms of life. It is exceedingly unstable at physiological pH values and is spontaneously converted...
متن کاملBiotransformation of Artemisinin by using a Novel Soil Isolated Microorganism
Artemisinin is a potential antimalarial drug effective against the multidrug resistant forms of Malarial Parasites. The current production of artemisinin is insufficient to meet the global demand. In the present study microbial biotransformation of arteannuin B, a biogenetic precursor of artemisinin to the later has been investigated. Screening studies carried out on several soil borne microorg...
